Warranty
Our PCs, Notebooks, Laptops, Computers, RAM and Memory are typically sourced direct from the manufacturer. Products that have been opened or previously operated will pass through a stringent quality assurance process to ensure your PC meets the reliability standards that the manufacturer intended, and is functionally ‘as new’.

All products come standard with a RTB (return to base) warranty, unless otherwise stated. The length of the warranty period will vary for different products, which is clearly outlined next to each item on our web site.

Warranty Level for 3 Different ‘Product Condition’ Types

1) New – these products are brand new, never used, and come with all inclusions, components and software that the manufacturer originally provided.
Minimum Warranty period – 12 Months (RTB)

2) Open box – these products are ‘as new’, but have been opened and possibly used for demonstration purposes. Most products in this category come with operating systems, manuals, recovery CDs and software.
Minimum Warranty period – 6 Months (RTB)

3) Factory Refurbished – these products may have previously been used in a corporate environment, as part of a ‘managed’ fleet. They are fully quality tested, clean and functional, but may have minor scuffs and signs of some use. They typically do NOT come standard with drivers, recovery CDs, manuals and software. Laptop batteries are also tested, however we do not warrant the battery.

Product Warranty Terms & Conditions:
Our computers are covered by a minimum 6 month hardware warranty, commencing from the date of receipt of product. The warranty covers hardware failure (parts & labour). The warranty is a 'Return to Base' warranty (it is the customers responsibility for returning the product back to PC Surplus).

This warranty does not cover damage or fault due to causes including accident, abuse, misuse, electrical power supplies or connections, servicing or repairs not authorized by PC Surplus, usage not in accordance with product instructions, use of parts and components not supplied by PC Surplus. Warranty will be voided if the product is serviced or repaired or handled by anyone other than PC Surplus.

This warranty does not cover 'aesthetic' aspects of the product, or any items that are in one or more of the following categories: software; batteries; accessories or parts added to or with the product by the customer. Laptop batteries are sold holding charge but are sold as is, and no time period for charge strength or life is expressed or implied.

To gain warranty service, your product must be submitted to PC Surplus within the warranty period. PC Surplus is not liable for any expenses caused by loss of data or software. If PC Surplus repairs or replaces a product, its warranty term is not extended from that date.
